This had the best price I could find anywhere on a 1/4" thick mat, so despite the couple of negative reviews, I went for it. And it paid off, the mat is a full 1/4" thick, it doesn't smell funny, and it's plenty sticky, except for when your hands get sweaty. I ordered a second (in hot pink) for my 6 year old!

this is a great yoga mat for a great price, far better than the standard retail mat.
the larger footprint is welcome, as I have been using a significantly smaller, thinner mat.
this is practically lush by comparison.
the orange color is great, truly invigorating.

This is a very nice yoga mat. Great size gives extra space for me as a newbie. After opening the packaging, the initial smell was a bit overwhelming. We unrolled the mat and left it outside for 2 days and the smell dissipated. Great mat at a great price.

I chose this because the reviews said it was thicker than standard mats, which is what I need due to tender bones/joints. It met my expectations in this regard - not too hard, not too squishy. It seems to need a "recovery" time after being compressed (or stood on), so make sure you don't store it under heavy objects.
There was a bit of a synthetic smell when I opened the packaging (which I hate) but after I aired it out for a while, the smell was completely gone. Even during Bikram class, the heat did not bring out any foul odours while I was face down on the mat.
The only problem I had was that my feet would slip during Bikram class, and I wasn't even sweating that much. I will try putting a towel on top.

I tried this mat because of the price, and I was very disappointed. First, when you're in a pose, your mat sinks so it takes the shape of your hands or feet or whatever is on the mat. Then, when you pull your hand/foot/etc.. out of the mat for your next pose, there is now an imprint of your hand/foot/etc... It takes a few seconds to rebound to its original shape, but it is still annoying. Second, when the mat sinks, it becomes very thin, like when I'm kneeling on the ground, it feels like there is no padding at all and I'm kneeling on the floor. The only good thing about this was that it was cheap. If you are looking for a good high-quality mat, try the Jade Yoga mats. Those are fabulous and worth the expense.
